Getting a new roof is a big job and a big expense so it isn’t something you want to do if you don’t need to.  So how do you know when it is time for a new roof?

One of the top signs that there’s a big problem is if you are talking to your local roofing company on a regular basis because there are problems.  A regular need for maintenance means there are issues with the roof that keep occurring or spreading and this often means that the roof may need replacing.

The weather often tells you the most about the condition of your roof.  If the rain means leak patches are appearing on the ceiling or the wind can constantly move roof tiles out of place, it may mean that re-roofing is needed.

Another reason is sometimes that you simply feel the roof is looking shabby and is letting down the appearance of the house.  This can be especially important if you are selling the house where that first impression can be so important and the photos of the house in the estate agent make such a difference.
