Get your Roof Replaced this Summer

Summer is the perfect time to get your home re-roofed because there's less chance of bad weather causing problems. But what does having a new roof on your house look like?

For starters,  your roofer will likely recommend a complete tear-off of your old roof before installation of the new one. This is the best way to ensure a quality install and avoid any future problems.

After the old roof is removed, your roofer will inspect the decking (the wooden boards that make up the surface of your roof) to make sure it's still in good condition and can support the weight of a new roof. If the decking is damaged, it will need to be repaired or replaced before the new roof goes on.

Once the decking is ready, your roofer will install the underlayment. This is a layer of waterproof material that helps protect your home from water damage.

After the underlayment is in place, your roofer will install the new shingles or roof tiles. Shingles and roof tiles come in a variety of colors and styles, so you can choose the look that best fits your home. Once the materials are in place, your roofer will install any other necessary materials, such as ridge vents or flashing.

Once the new roof is installed, you can enjoy peace of mind knowing your home is better protected from the elements. And, with proper care and maintenance, your new roof should last for many years to come.
